As of July 1, 2014, all new hires are required by University Policy to have background checks conducted on them prior to starting the new position. This applies to all positions except student positions. So if you want to hire a temp/casual employee or any other employee group, please be mindful that we need to do a background check, which takes about a week.
Offer letters are also now required for all new positions including Temp/Casual positions. In the new offer letters, it describes the process to the new employee about what to do to get the background check completed. I initiate the process and the new employee needs to complete their paperwork and submit it to complete the process. So please contact me prior to hiring any new employees including temp/casual employees.
